Job Description

Department: Boston Opportunity Agenda Reports To: Executive Director, Boston Opportunity Agenda FLSA Classification: Exempt FTE : 1 Supervises : None Hybrid Schedule: In person 1-2 days/week, usually Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, optional for more days in office as desired. Position Budgeted: $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 The Data and Impact Manager will lead the creation of data-focused projects and reports to further the mission of the Boston Opportunity Agenda. This role will be part of a cross-functional team and will work independently and collaboratively. The data and reporting strategy will be developed in collaboration with the team and implemented with leadership by the Data and Impact Manager. Essential Functions: Producing data-driven research and analysis on topics including early childhood, secondary, and post-secondary education as pathways to economic mobility; Communicating research findings in ways that are accessible to a range of non-technical audiences, often through the production of reports, articles, fact sheets, briefings, and presentations; Developing and stewarding external relationships, helping the Executive Director expand the reach and depth of connections with key partners and stakeholders; Managing data and reporting projects over the full project pipeline from conception through to completion; Researching, recommending, and writing letters of intent and grant proposals using research findings. Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent professional work experience and/or education required. Strong written and oral communications skills, including public speaking and presentation skills; Experience working with education and social service data; Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead complex projects; Comfort and flexibility working across a wide range of issue areas; Proficiency analyzing large data sets in Excel and other data analysis tools such as R Studio, Python, or Stata; Data visualization, including but not limited to use of mapping tools and graphic design tools such as Canva; Ability to give and receive criticism constructively and meet tight deadlines under pressure; Ability to interact well with a diverse range of people; Flexible, collegial, and supportive toward constituents and colleagues. Working Conditions & Physical Demands: Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time; Ability to use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time; Ability to work on-site and remotely, as required. Boston Opportunity Agenda is a public/private partnership that works to increase dramatically the pace and scale of change in education for all children in Boston, with a focus on students who experience the least access to successful pathways.
