Position Summary:

Our Pediatrics Department is hiring full time Certified Medical Assistants (Bilingual Spanish/English)!  Medical Assistant will provide support to providers and nurses with patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities. Candidates must have a true passion and love for working with children and their families. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of previous experience working in a community-based clinic. 
• Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• At least 1 year of related experience with children highly desired. 
• Flexible work schedule.
• Proficiency with computers and software.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.  

Key Duties:

• Prepare and cleans examination rooms, equipment, and sterilizes instruments.
• Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
• Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
• Assist provider with treatments.
• Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.

Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually)

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Candidates must possess availability to work onsite based out of our Bronx Community Health Center, El Nuevo San Juan. The current schedule required is Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and/or 9:00am - 6:00pm and every other Saturday.
