Job Description

The HT Group has partnered with an intellectual property law firm with multiple locations nationwide to find a people-focused Recruiting & Professional Development Manager. This individual will lead the Recruiting Department and partner with Firm leadership to shape and execute a strategic legal recruiting and development plan. The role involves close collaboration with the Firm’s hiring partner, Recruiting Coordinator, and other administrative managers.

 
Location: Houston TX 77046 (On-site)
Compensation: Dependent on experience 

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all legal recruiting initiatives, including lateral hires, summer associates, and intern programs.
  • Oversee the summer program (training, mentorship, evaluations, events, and budget).
  • Maintain and build relationships with law schools and universities; attend recruiting events and career fairs.
  • Utilize recruiting platforms such as LawCruit, 12Twenty, Flo Recruit, and LinkedIn.
  • Manage applicant workflow and ensure alignment with firm culture.
  • Support CLE programming, including scheduling, accreditation, and event coordination.
  • Partner with Marketing and HR on branding, surveys, and client CLE events.
  • Lead non-partner timekeeper evaluations and participate in performance-related discussions
  • Plan firm events and cultural initiatives (e.g., birthdays, holiday parties, celebrations)
  • Monitor recruiting budgets and reporting as needed
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting or a related field
  • 2+ years in a legal environment
  • Experience with intellectual property law or technical backgrounds a plus
  • Familiarity with NALP and related professional development networks preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with LawCruit, Canva, and other tools a plus
