Job Title: Trauma Registrar (Remote – Florida Residents Only)

Location (City, State): Remote, FL

Industry: Healthcare / Health Information Management

Pay: $20–$30/hr (based on experience and qualifications)

About Our Client:

Addison Group is working with a large, well-established health system in Florida that is currently expanding its trauma registry team. This client previously required on-site staff but has recently opened this position to remote candidates. The Trauma Program is growing rapidly, and the organization is eager to bring on motivated professionals to support its mission.

Job Description:

The Trauma Registrar will support the trauma department by accurately collecting and managing data for all trauma patients seen at the facility. This data plays a critical role in performance improvement, research, and meeting state/national registry compliance standards. This is a direct-hire role with long-term potential, especially for those seeking certification or career advancement in trauma registry or HIM roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, abstract, and enter trauma patient information into the registry database
  • Ensure data accuracy using ICD-10-CM and trauma coding systems (AIS, ISS)
  • Assist with internal trauma reports and quality assurance initiatives
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure complete trauma case inclusion
  • Prepare for state/regulatory surveys and assist with trauma-related audits
  • Support trauma meetings and program initiatives
  • Participate in trauma research and reporting as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in HIM or medical coding required
  • Certification such as CPC, RHIT, or CSTR strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a trauma or acute care hospital is required
  • Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and familiarity with trauma registry processes
  • Willingness to pursue Trauma Registrar Certification within 2 years (training provided)
  • Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy (inclusive of medical marijuana restrictions)
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical and spiritual exemptions accepted)
